Dictating messages with your voice

Inside any conversation, the composer has a microphone button next to the send button. Use it when typing isn't practical — in the car, between sessions, or when your hands are full.

How it works

1. Tap the mic to start recording. Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time.
2. Speak naturally. There's no time pressure.
3. Tap the mic again to stop. The recording is sent off for transcription and the text streams live into the message box.
4. Edit anything you want, then tap Send.

Tips

• Speak in short sentences. Pauses help the transcriber punctuate.
• Background noise is fine, but quieter rooms transcribe more accurately.
• You can keep typing while transcription is finishing — new text appends to what you've written.

Privacy

Audio is sent over an encrypted connection to Blumi's AI gateway for transcription and is not stored. Only the resulting text is saved — and only when you tap Send.

Troubleshooting

• No mic button? Your browser may not support audio recording. Try Chrome or Safari on a recent device.
• "Microphone blocked"? Check the site permissions in your browser settings and allow microphone access for Blumi.
